Location: Bougainvillea Hall, 5F, Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition CenterTerpenoids constitute the largest group of plant secondary (or specialized) metabolites, and they play important roles in plant adaptation to environments. Sesquiterpenes are derived from the 15-carbon farnesyl diphosphate. The plant defense hormone jasmonate (JA) plays an important role in regulation of secondary metabolism pathways. The Arabidopsis MYC2, a bHLH transcription factor, acts as a key regulator of JA response. Xiao-Ya Chen

Xiao-Ya Chen is a researcher at CAS Shanghai Plant Physiology and Ecology Institute and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is president of the Chinese Society of Plant Physiology. He is engaged in plant secondary metabolism.
