New emoji revealed ahead of autumn release
    2017-July-26  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

一批新鲜emoji表情来袭

If you prefer using emoji than words to express yourself, then you’ll be happy to hear that 56 new characters will soon be heading your way.

The Unicode Consortium has released a new version recently, which includes woman with a headscarf, fairy man, pretzel and even a woman in a steamy shower.

While it is unclear when Apple will implement the new emoji, rumors suggest they will be available with a new iOS update this autumn. Emojipedia has released details on the new emoji, along with a sample image showing visual representations of the additions. Various facial expressions have been added, including a face with raised eyebrow, a shushing face and a face with hand over mouth.

Some new animals have made the list, including a zebra, giraffe, hedgehog, and two species of dinosaur.

The more weird and wonderful emoji include a cut of meat, canned food and a flying saucer. New flags have been added for England, Scotland and Wales.

Together, the 56 new emoji bring the total number available to 239.

The new emoji will not be available for Apple devices until Apple adds support for Unicode 10. The artwork for each will also need to be approved by Apple.(SD-Agencies)
