Sharing school streams live to promote balanced education
    2017-August-2  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

深圳“丑小鸭魔法共享学校“采用直播方式教学

Nowadays, sharing economy and live streaming have become so popular in China that even a school in Shenzhen has joined in the new trends.

The school is called “Ugly Duckling Magic Sharing School” and it was initiated by Xiang Yang, principal of Fumin Elementary School, at the beginning of this year.

The live streamers at the school are outstanding teachers who provide real-time classes to students in the classroom and beyond through one-way broadcasts, interactive broadcasts on multiple screens and broadcasts on demand.

Xiang noted that the live classes can break the limits of time and distance, so that quality schools and excellent teachers can help more students and the distribution of education resources will be more balanced.

In the first half of 2017, more than 100 star teachers joined the project and nearly 100 classes have been broadcasted since it started five months ago, with the recorded broadcasts having received more than 10,000 hits.

“Our philosophy is to make education more amusing, interesting and meaningful. Our class is full of magic. As the school’s name indicates, we want to transform students just like how the ugly duckling was transformed,” Xiang said.
