Hallucinating drug addict walks into police station
    2017-August-24  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A MAN who was experiencing illusions after taking drugs walked into a police station in Luohu District on Saturday, claiming that he needed to “deal with some affairs.”

Police officers detained the man after noticing his abnormal behavior and later put him under detention for drug use.

A police officer on duty, Gao Yanjun, at the household registration office of the Liantang Police Station, noticed that something was wrong with the male resident.

Gao recalled that there were only a few people in the office, but the man had lingered there for nearly an hour, anxiously pacing back and forth and murmuring to himself. When he would sit on the bench, the man’s legs would continuously shake, showing he was anxious.

The police officer sensed that something must have been wrong with him and when he approached the counter, Gao realized the man was talking incoherently and his vision seemed to be blurred.

Gao hinted to her colleague, who was sitting next to her, to inform the other police officers while she answered the man’s questions about household registration. However, the intoxicated man suddenly walked away and attempted to walk out of the room when the other police officers arrived and controlled him.

The police officers then interrogated the man and found that he had a record of taking drugs. The man, surnamed Lan, 35, had already been put into a drug rehabilitation center twice in previous years.

It has been reported that Lan admitted to taking methamphetamine early Saturday morning before going to the police station under the effect of the drugs. The man will be detained for two years at the drug rehabilitation center for treatment.
