Julianne Moore to be honored at 2017 MoMA Film Benefit
    2017-August-25  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

ACTRESS Julianne Moore is set to be honored at this year’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) film benefit, presented by Chanel.

The Oscar-winning actress will be recognized with a gala dinner and tribute at the 10th annual event Nov. 13, joining such past honorees as Tom Hanks, Cate Blanchett, Alfonso Cuaron, Tilda Swinton, Quentin Tarantino, Pedro Almodovar, Kathryn Bigelow, Tim Burton and Baz Luhrmann.

“Julianne Moore is a fearless champion of risk-taking cinema,” MoMA film curator Rajendra Roy said Wednesday in a statement. “There appears to be no challenge she isn’t willing to tackle when it comes to upending expectations of what a ‘leading lady’ can or should do. She continues to inspire legions of actors around the world, and it is our honor to celebrate her phenomenal contributions to the art of film.”

In conjunction with the tribute, MoMA also will present a Nov. 2-12 screening series of Moore’s films.

Moore has a number of highly anticipated movies set to hit theaters this fall, including the George Clooney-directed “Suburbicon.”(SD-Agencies)
