Two training seminars organized by the Ministry of Commerce separately for education experts in the fields of e-learning and higher education from Africa and Asia concluded at SUSTech recently.

In the 21-day training sessions, 29 education officials, professors and teachers from seven African countries including Egypt, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Ghana, Malawi, Cameroon and Botswana and 33 trainees from four Asian countries including Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Oman completed their training in high learning education innovation and application of information communication technology (ICT).

At the closing ceremony on August 27, Li Ming, director of the International Center for Higher Education Innovation under the auspices of UNESCO (ICHEI), said the ICT revolution, the theme of the seminars, will be key to ensuring fairness and quality of present higher learning education.

SUSTech and ICHEI hope to establish multi-level and multi-dimensional cooperation with universities and education institutes in the fields of information and communication.

Besides indoor seminars, the trainees also took field trips to China Merchants Shekou Industrial Zone, Huawei, Tencent in Shenzhen and other enterprises in Guangzhou and Beijing. The trainees also visited Qinghua University and Beijing Normal University.
