TeamLab

“TeamLab: Dance! Art Exhibition, Learn & Play! Future Park” is a multimedia and light installation exhibition designed to stimulate people’s creativity and collaborative minds. The exhibition was awarded “Top 10 art exhibitions of 2015” by Designboom.

Video exhibition

The “In Search of Global Poetry: Videos From the Han Nefkens Collection” showcases 12 videos created by artists from different countries. The videos are on loan from Han Nefkens Foundation.

‘Fresh Vision’

Thirty-one graduates majoring in fine arts from domestic academies are now showcasing their creations. With the theme of “antibody,” this year’s exhibition focuses on individual spirit and attitude in art creation.

Free movie

U.S. movie “The Revenant” will be shown free of admission at the Futian English movie salon. A frontiersman on a fur trading expedition in the 1820s fights for survival after being mauled by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. “The Revenant” stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson and Will Poulter.

Something blue

Exhibition “Our Red Packet for Your Favorite Blue” showcases 11 groups of works, all in blue. Some items were contributed by WeChat users and include jeans, road signs, toys and shoes. The items were collected by Polit-Sheer-Form Office, which consists of five Chinese artists.

Modernist calligraphy

More than 200 5-meter tall green bamboo stalks have sprung up in Hall A of OCAT Shenzhen, turning the warehouse-shaped art space into a cool grove. Writing his unique undecipherable calligraphy on each of the bamboo stalks, Wang Dongling, the creator, attempts to echo an ancient Chinese natural scene, where scholars share poems together, to offer a fascinating contemporary twist on a classic form.

Photos by Robert Capa (1913-1954), a Hungarian war photographer and photojournalist, are on display in Shenzhen. Arguably the greatest combat and adventure photographer in history, he subsequently covered five wars, including the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in China, with his photos published in major magazines and newspapers. Capa later co-founded Magnum Photos in Paris. The organization was the first cooperative agency for worldwide freelance photographers.

Master’s works

Paintings and calligraphy by Wen Zhengming, one of the Four Masters of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), are on display. The exhibition features regular script and semi-cursive calligraphy and landscape paintings created by Wen (1470-1559), as well as his family members and friends.

Old photo exhibition

“Impressions of the Eras,” an exhibition featuring 100 photos of China taken from 1880 to 1988, is being held at Yuezhong Museum of Historical Images. The photos are on loan from the Old Photos magazine in Shandong Province. The museum is a nonprofit institute that focuses on collecting and studying photos of historical value.

Dates: Until Nov. 20
