Free movie

U.S. superhero movie “Doctor Strange” will be shown free of charge at the Futian English Movie Salon. The starring role is played by Benedict Cumberbatch as a surgeon who obtains supernatural abilities after a career-ending car accident. Actresses Rachel McAdams and Tilda Swinton play supporting roles. The movie is based on the original Marvel Comic, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is directed by Scott Derrickson, who wrote the film with Jon Spaihts and C. Robert Cargill.

Cat adoption

Homeless cats rescued by volunteers of the local-run cat adoption website szcat.org are waiting for pet lovers to take them home from their next adoption event. All cats will be available to new owners for adoption free of charge. The organization advocates life-long loyalty to animals and discourages owners from abandoning their pets, even if they move out of the city.

Leech band

Swiss experimental post-rock band Leech will perform live in Shenzhen on Sunday as part of its first China tour. Founded in 1995, Leech is most known for incorporating experimental instruments into their rock-inspired riffs, and infusing floating, rhythmic melodies with an epic sound landscape.

Saxophone quartet

The Nova Berlin Saxophone Quartet, consisting of Detlef Bensmann, Ninoslav Dimov, Lilly Paddags and Yin Pei, will play Piazzolla’s three tango pieces, Glazunov’s “Saxophone Quartet, Op. 109,” Francaix’s “Petit Quatuor,” and He Zhanhao and Chen Gang’s “The Butterfly Lovers.”
