Crossover guzheng music
    2017-September-8  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Chinese guzheng player Chang Jing will collaborate with cellist Song Zhao, pianist Xiao Ying, percussionist Wu Jianan and flute player Zhang Di to present a night of traditional Chinese music in a crossover rendition.

The guzheng is a Chinese plucked string instrument with a history of more than 2,500 years. After listening to crossover music from around the world, Chang started to rearrange traditional guzheng pieces. She has composed numbers for avant-garde choreographers such as Wang Yuanyuan and Shen Peiyi. In 2010, she founded a new ensemble that consists of both guzheng and Western instruments.
