Catio
    2017-October-9  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A: Cats naturally want to be outside where they can breathe fresh air and experience the sights, sounds and stimulation of the natural world. Check out the brochure for our catios, and you may find a perfect one for your feline friend.

B: Thank you, but I’ve already built one myself.

Note: From Spanish, a “patio” is an outdoor space generally used for dining or recreation that adjoins a residence and is typically paved. A patio for cats, the “catio” is a small outdoor enclosure that allows domestic cats to be outdoors safely, typically with an entrance back indoors. Cat-owners in Toronto have been building or buying their own catios of late, a blend word that’s been around since at least 2010, as an alarming number of cats have been found dead in the city, the Toronto Star reported.
