300 students poisoned in India

    2017-October-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

ABOUT 300 school students in the north of India felt unwell after inhaling gas from a sugar production plant located next to their school, channel NDTV reported.

The incident occurred with the students of the school in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday morning. The victims were hospitalized after they felt sick. They also began to have shortness of breath, abdominal pain, dizziness and burning eyes.

Some estimated the number of child victims to be heavy. “Between 30 to 35 children are in serious condition,” the channel quoted a representative of the Surdzhit Singh district government as saying.

Doctors reported that other children were seriously injured, said the TV channel.

The Hindustan Times cited the police as saying that the plant leaked chemical. Other reports at the same time gave other figures of victims at more than 100 students. (SD-Agencies)
