1st national youth note-taking competition launched in SZ
    2017-November-1  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

The First National Youth Note-taking Competition, which aims to “record a beautiful China by taking notes,” was held on October 24 at OCT Wetland Park and witnessed by over 120 representatives from departments of local environmental education and communications committees, natural education institutions and middle and primary schools across the country.

The event encourages students aged 5 to 18 to record what they observe in nature, including things, objects and people, through handwriting and freehand sketching.

It advocates the harmonious coexistence between people and nature through teaching that pristine water and lush mountains are invaluable. It aims to blend ecological civilization into school education, family education and societal education.

During the launching ceremony, renowned painter Zhao Chunyu gave guidance to 30 students from Shenzhen Tiandong Primary School according to the theme “Wetland and Me” at OCT Wetland Park. The students created stories inspired by the wetland from their own perspectives.

The official website for the competition was launched at the end of October.

The competition was initiated by the Center for Environmental Education and Communications of Ministry of Environmental Protection and the China National Children’s Center, and was supported by Shenzhen OCT Hua Club Ecological Environment Protection Foundation.
