Mom of Jimmy Fallon dies at 68
    2017-November-7  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

LATE-NIGHT host Jimmy Fallon’s mother, Gloria Fallon, died Saturday in New York City. She was 68.

The mother of two children, son Jimmy and daughter Gloria, Fallon was part of a close-knit family. She met her husband, James Fallon, while they were in high school together in Brooklyn. The younger Gloria appeared on the late-night staple as part of her brother’s game segments.

“Jimmy Fallon’s mother, Gloria, died peacefully Saturday. Jimmy was at his mother’s bedside, along with her loved ones, when she passed away at NYU Langone Medical Center in NYC,” according to a statement from a family spokesperson. “Our prayers go out to Jimmy and his family as they go through this tough time.” On Friday, NBC announced that “The Tonight Show” had canceled the taping of that night’s episode so that Fallon could be with his mother in the hospital. A repeat episode aired in its place.

Gloria Fallon was in attendance when her son first took over as host of “The Tonight Show” in 2014. Jimmy Fallon once shared on “The Howard Stern Show” that his mother was a nun for a brief period at one point in her life.

As part of the “Tonight Show” host’s recurring hashtag segments, Fallon once shared a memory from his own mother for #MomQuotes on Twitter: My mom and I were talking on the phone for the third time that day and she actually said, “We don’t talk enough.” (SD-Agencies)
