SZ ranks 4th for consumption
    2017-November-13  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

DURING the shopping spree, Shenzhen residents’ total consumption on Tmall topped Guangdong Province and ranked 4th among all cities in China, with Shanghai, Beijing and Hangzhou rounding out the top three.

Data showed Guangdong consumers spent the most on digital devices, home appliances and computers.

In Shenzhen, more consumers tended toward paying by installments during this year’s “Double 11” shopping day. The total number of orders made by installment payment in Shenzhen this year increased by 300 percent compared to last year.

Also, Shenzhen North Railway Station is operating seven high speed trains a day to handle the cargo from Shenzhen to Changsha, Wuhan and Xiamen.

At 3 p.m. Saturday, the first day of the “Double 11” online shopping spree, dozens of bags were piled up on the 13th platform of Shenzhen North Railway Station to be loaded onto train G1014. The train arrived at Wuhan Station at 8:23 p.m.

For this year’s “Double 11” (from Saturday to Nov. 20), Guangzhou Railway Group Corp. has arranged 35 high speed trains to carry 48 tons of cargo. The trains mainly go from Guangzhou, Changsha and Shenzhen to major Chinese cities.
