2017 Midi Kids band competition to be held in SZ
    2017-December-26  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AFTER almost five months of preliminary and semifinal contests, Midi has selected 26 bands and 38 individual instrument players from Beijing, Chengdu, Suzhou, Shanghai and Shenzhen divisions for the finale of the 2017 Midi Kids band competition.

The finale will be held on the stage of Midi Kids during the Midi New Year festival in Shenzhen from Dec. 30-31. By the festival’s end, an award for the best original music will be attributed to one team of the kid musicians.

The Midi Kids band competition, organized by Beijing Midi Musical School, was launched in 2016. Named the most authentic kids’ modern musical event, this competition has received a wide range of attention and praise thanks to public welfare and inspirational guidance for original musical compositions.

At the Midi Kids festival in Shenzhen in 2016 and 2017, the winning bands got the chance to get on-stage at the Chinese rock music scene. The audiences and millions of viewers who watched the famous rock festival online could also watch the talented Chinese youngsters perform.

This nationwide competition, which lasts five months each year, is still going on. After the finale, Midi will continue to provide practical support, educational resources and a refined environment for the growth of the youth. These young musicians will continue to carry their musical dreams on into the real world. (A Ding)
