City lounge project

QIANHAI is planning to build its city lounge project, which is composed of parks, a convention center, an opera house, transport terminals and an exchange square, in its Guiwan area, according to a plan released by the Qianhai administration bureau.

The city lounge project is a T-shaped 71-hectare area surrounded by Shuangjiehe Park in the north, Guiwanhe Park in the south, Guiwan No. 5 Road and Guiwan No. 3 Road.

Vehicle checks

DRIVERS can now make reservations to get their vehicles inspected at 60 inspection stations across the city by logging in at http://app.stc.gov.cn:8092/mot/appoint/book/index, sources from Shenzhen traffic police said.

According to relevant rules, vehicles less than 6 years old don’t need on-site checks.

Woman detained

A WOMAN was detained for seven days for refusing an ID check and verbally assaulting police officers at Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint recently.

Shenzhen Bay Police Station set up an inspection station Jan. 3 for routine checks and a woman refused to cooperate when she was ordered to show her ID card and persisted in insulting the officers despite warnings.

The woman was later detained for hindering police duty.

Ticket scalpers

RAILWAY police officers have seized 21 suspects involved in ticket scalping since New Year’s Day.

The police department has mobilized 100 officers in 10 teams to tackle ticket scalping at Shenzhen North Railway Station, Shenzhen Railway Station and Guangzhou East Railway Station in the 100-day action against ticket scalping initiated last week.
