Ceremony marks start of new Metro projects

Shenzhen Party chief Wang Weizhong (6th L) and Shenzhen Mayor Chen Rugui (6th R), as well as other officials from the city government, Shenzhen Metro Co. and contractors of the Metro projects at a ceremony marking the commencement of the construction of five new Metro lines at Silian Station of Line 14 in Longgang District yesterday morning. The five lines will run a total of 148.9 kilometers and cost a combined 134.5 billion yuan (US$19.80 billion) to build. The construction of the five lines — 12, 13, 14, 16 and the spur line of 6 — are expected to be completed in 2022. Sun Yuchen
