CHINA Southern Airlines Shenzhen Co. will add 926 flights, including 844 domestic flights and 82 international flights, for the Spring Festival holiday, according to the plan for the first batch of flights to be added, which was released by the company yesterday.

The additional flights are mainly on routes to Haikou, Changde, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Changsha, Nanyang, Hanzhong, Guangyuan, Bijie and Hefei. The international flights are mainly on routes to Southeast Asian countries.

The Spring Festival season will officially start Feb. 1, and China Southern Airlines estimates their passenger flow will increase by 4.3 to 8.4 percent. The travel peak is expected to arrive between Feb. 8 and 14. Tickets to popular Southeast Asian destinations have already been sold out. The airline calls for holiday makers to make reservations for the additional flights as early as possible.

Considering the foggy weather conditions on the winter mornings in cities in southwestern China, the company has adjusted the schedule of flight CZ6653/4 from Shenzhen to Nanchong to fly at night between Feb. 9 and 14.

The company has also added flights to Chongqing on Wednesdays and Fridays in February.

The company plans to resume one flight a day to Bali Island starting Jan. 26. It will also add flights to Taipei, Bangkok and Phuket. Travelers to Phnom Penh, Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi can enjoy discounted prices as low as 150 yuan (US$23).
