New park provides leisure space
    2018-February-6  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

The new Dazhongshan Park in Xinqiao Subdistrict in Bao’an offers a good choice for members of the public looking to enjoy leisure time.

The park is located near the city’s main roads, namely Chuangcheng Road and Wanfeng Road Central. Surrounded by many residential estates and industrial areas inhabited by nearly 100,000 residents, it provides a new hangout and space for recreational activities.

Before renovation, the park had been left uncultivated for years, not only occupying a lot of green space but also posing a hindrance on the city’s urban landscape. In addition, the land was overgrown with dense vegetation. Some hills had comparatively steep slopes and the soil was exposed and loose, posing a risk of landslides.

Last year, the uncultivated land’s renovation was included into the 10 major quality projects of Xinqiao Subdistrict and construction initiated in March. The park is not only equipped with a management office, tourist service center, landscape pavilions and corridors, but also quality public health infrastructure, including guardrails, alarm equipment, fitness facilities, a football field and garbage transfer station. The park has also had its layout adjusted into a “sponge city” model with ecological structures of high standards, meant to help manage filthy rivers and runoff.

Venue: Dazhongshan Park, Wanfeng Road Central, Bao’an District (宝安区万丰中路大钟山公园)

Metro: Line 11, Ma’an Hill Station (马安山站), Exit D(Zhang Yu)
