VISITORS to Hongfa Temple and Shenzhen Fairy Lake Botanical Garden during the Spring Festival holiday need to make reservations online, according to a notice from the Luohu District Government.

To ensure safety, park management has capped the number of visitors at 20,000 between 8 p.m., Feb. 15, the Chinese New Year’s Eve and 8 a.m. Feb. 16, the first day of the lunar new year.

Between Feb. 16 and 21 and on the Lantern Festival, which falls March 2, the daily visitors will be capped at 50,000. The park will be closed for the night time period between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. during the holiday and on March 1, the eve of the Lantern Festival.

Visitors to the park can make reservations and purchase tickets at the official WeChat account of “深圳市仙湖植物园,” then present their ID cards upon entering the park.

Between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Feb. 15, the exit-only rule will be imposed. Police will impose traffic controls at Xianhu Road, Panshan Road and Lianshi Road, and entrances to the park.

Buses will be arranged during the holiday and Lantern Festival at Yijing Station on Line 5 and Huangbeiling Station, the interchange station of Line 2 and Line 5, to transport park visitors. The fare is two yuan (US$0.32) per trip.

In another development, Fenghuang Mountain Park will also cap the numbers of visitors at 20,000 for the three days between Lunar New Year’s Eve and the second day of the lunar new year. All cars, except buses, taxis and on-duty vehicles, will be forbidden from entering the park between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. during the holiday and Lantern Festival. Police will impose controls at entrances to the park, the intersection of Fenghuangshan Boulevard and Fufeng Road and Fenghuangshan Tunnel.

Two bus routes will also be added to link Qiaotou Station of Line 11 and Airport East Station of Line 1 to Fenghuang Moutain Park.
